Oakley has set the bar again on sports performance eyewear with the new Field Jacket. Sunglass Rob talks with Oakley and our guest, Skills With Phil, on this revolutionary frame.
The Oakely Field Jacket improves on the Oakley Jawbone. Oakley researchers equipped eye-trackers to riders to determine where their eyes went. They discovered that the Jawbone’s brow-line impeded the wearer’s field of view.
That is suboptimal.
Now the Field Jacket sports the biggest twin lens Oakley has ever created. It has an expansive field of view, especially the upper field of view for riding.
Helmet compatibility is a nonissue. The Field Jacket features interchangeable temple stems for seamless integration.
But what about fogging? Other sunglasses must be perched on the tip of the nose to defog. That’s uncomfortable, and if you have an Rx you can’t see.
The Field Jacket has the Advancer, a one button solution for ventilation. It’s located beneath the bridge and places the frame 7 millimeters forward to allow air flow while maintaining optical alignment.
Did we mention it can hold an Rx? It can.
